Best Golf Courses in Sweden
22 ranked courses in Sweden
Sweden has 22 courses in this guide, and the country is among the most open in Europe: 19 take visitors without restrictions, two set conditions and one, Crownwood, is members and guests only. Sixteen are semi-private, three are public, two are resort courses and one is private. The courses fall into groups. Skåne in the south holds ten, which are described on their own page. Stockholm holds five: Bro Hof Slott in Bro, Robert Trent Jones Jr.'s 2007 course; Drottningholm, a 1959 design by Rafael Sundblom and Nils Sköld redesigned by Johan Benestam in 2010 to 2012; Österåker in Åkersberga, a club from 1988 whose Öster course is by Henrik Stenson and Christian Lundin; Ullna, Sven Tumba's 1981 course redesigned by Jack Nicklaus's firm and reopened in 2013; and Vidbynäs in Nykvarn, from 2004. Halland has Halmstad Golfklubb in Tylösand, where guests need a handicap within the club's limit, and Vallda, Martin Hawtree's 2009 heathland. Västra Götaland has Hills in Mölndal, by Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest, and Skövde, Lundin's 2018 heathland. Frösåker in Västerås, Sand in Bankeryd and the coastal Visby on Gotland complete the list. Eleven courses are parkland, four links, four heathland and three coastal.

About Golf Courses in Sweden
Plan by group. Stockholm's five (Bro, Drottningholm, Åkersberga twice and Nykvarn) fit one trip. Halmstad's Tylösand and Vallda are the Halland pair, Mölndal and Skövde cover Västra Götaland, and Västerås, Bankeryd and Gotland's Tofta are each a separate journey.
