About Vallda Golf & Country Club
Vallda Golf & Country Club is a par 72, 18-hole course at Vallda in Kungsbacka, Halland, near Gothenburg. Martin Hawtree designed it as what the club calls a West Coast Scottish inland links: an open layout with strategic bunkering around the greens, set among meadows with a backdrop of oak forest.
- Vallda is ranked among the ten best courses in Sweden.
- Jonathan Caldwell won the 2021 Scandinavian Mixed here with a closing 64, in a field where men and women played for the same prize money.
- The Vallda Academy gives lessons, and a driving range and practice area are on site.
- Restaurant Vallda is in the clubhouse.
History of Vallda Golf & Country Club
The idea took shape in the mid-1990s, when four founders wanted a British-style course in the Kungsbacka area. They bought 86 hectares of meadow bordered by oak forest in the Vallda valley and commissioned Hawtree, who took his cue from the classic British courses of the 1920s. The course opened in 2009.
When to play Vallda Golf & Country Club
