Best Golf Courses in Kenya
6 ranked courses in Kenya
Kenya has six clubs in this guide, and all six are parkland courses: two private, two semi-private and two resort. Four of them are in Nairobi. Royal Nairobi Golf Club, founded in 1906 as the Nairobi Golf Club, is Kenya's oldest golf club and received its royal title in the mid-1930s; visitors should contact the club to arrange a round. Muthaiga Golf Club laid out its first nine holes in 1913 and completed 18 by 1926. It hosted the Kenya Open every year from 1969 to 2002, routes its back nine around lakes and ponds, and lets visiting golfers play its par 71 for a green fee. Karen Country Club, dating to 1937, crosses part of the former coffee estate of Baroness Karen von Blixen and staged the 57th Magical Kenya Open in February 2026. Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club winds through coffee farms and indigenous forest at roughly 6,000 feet and measures 7,277 yards from the back tees. At Kikuyu, Sigona Golf Club is a 1938 course credited to Tom Simpson, 6,892 yards of tree-lined Kikuyu grass. On the coast north of Mombasa, the PGA Baobab Course at Vipingo Ridge, by former Kenya Open winner David Jones, sits on a ridge with views toward the Indian Ocean.

About Golf Courses in Kenya
Nairobi is the base for Royal Nairobi, Muthaiga, Karen and Windsor, where a 130-room hotel on the estate puts a bed beside the course; Royal Nairobi and Karen need guest play arranged ahead. Sigona at Kikuyu, on the A104 toward Naivasha, has its own accommodation beside the course. Vipingo Ridge in Kilifi County is a separate coastal stay, with a beach club on the estate.
