About Skövde Golfklubb
Skövde Golfklubb is a 27-hole club in Skövde, in Västra Götaland, and its Södra course is the main draw. Södra is an 18-hole par 72 designed by Christian Lundin with the ground game in mind. The greens have open surrounds, so players who cannot fly every approach to the flag can bounce and roll the ball on instead. The putting surfaces are modern USGA-specification creeping bentgrass, and the routing leaves room to choose different lines from the tee. Skövde is a members' club that sells tee times to visitors.
- Norra, the second course, is a par 35 nine-holer that can be played twice for a full round.
- Rental carts, rental clubs and a golf shop are available on site, along with lessons.
- Cottages and caravan hookups on the grounds let golfers stay at the course.
- Juniors receive a 50 percent discount on the green fee.
History of Skövde Golfklubb
Södra is a complete rebuild of the club's earlier layout on the same ground, and the new course was finished in 2018. The rebuild was led by Lundin and replaced the old design with a ground-game layout and modern greens, while Norra remained as the club's separate nine-hole course.
Signature holes at Skövde Golfklubb
The 8th is a short par 4 that offers risk and reward, with bunkers guarding the lay-up areas.
When to play Skövde Golfklubb
