About Wynn Golf Club

Wynn Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 70 course on the grounds of Wynn Las Vegas in Nevada, and it is the only golf course on the Strip. Tom Fazio designed it, and the layout leans on variety rather than length: six par 3s, four par 5s and eight par 4s. Streams, lakes and waterfalls bring water into play on 12 holes, and mature trees and strategic bunkering are set against elevation changes added in the Fazio redesign. Greens are bentgrass, and tees are offered at several lengths.

  • The Desert Inn course that stood here hosted the PGA Tour's Tournament of Champions every year from 1953 to 1966.
  • Roughly 1,200 trees from the Desert Inn era were kept through the redesign.
  • The Las Vegas monorail runs alongside the course, which sits in the middle of the Strip.
  • Every round comes with a PGA-member caddie who guides you around the course.

History of Wynn Golf Club

Golf on this ground began when the Desert Inn course opened in 1952. Steve Wynn bought the Desert Inn in 2000, and the current Wynn Golf Club opened in 2005 to a Tom Fazio design on the old course's site. The course then closed for roughly two years, and it reopened in October 2019 after Fazio and his son Logan reworked it. Eight holes are entirely new, while the others follow corridors close to the originals.

Signature holes at Wynn Golf Club

The 18th is a par 3 that finishes beside a 35-foot waterfall behind the green, a dramatic ending to the round. With six par 3s in all, the short holes carry much of the course's character.

When to play Wynn Golf Club

Spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) are the best times, with daytime highs in the 70s and 80s and the highest demand. Summers are very hot, with triple-digit heat at midday, so book early morning tee times. Winter is mild and fully playable, and cheaper.
