About West Sussex Golf Club
West Sussex Golf Club is an 18-hole heathland course at Wiggonholt, near Pulborough, on the edge of the South Downs. Guy Campbell and Cecil Hutchison designed it, and it opened in 1931. The card is par 68, which sounds short, but it plays longer than it looks. Fairways are framed by heather, pine and birch, so accuracy off the tee matters, and white sand bunkers contrast with the heather. Greens are firm, fast and contoured.
- The card has five par 3s.
- White sand bunkers contrast with the heather.
- The 13th, 14th and 16th are favoured holes on the back nine.
- South Downs National Park and Arundel Castle are nearby.
