About St George's Hill Golf Club

St George's Hill Golf Club is a 27-hole heathland club at Weybridge in Surrey, designed by Harry Colt. The holes are arranged as three nines called Red, Blue and Green. The Red and Blue nines form the main 18, and the Green nine is the shorter loop. The course has heather beneath Scots pines and silver birches, and the fairways are undulating.

  • The club grew out of an early residential golf community.
  • A fire in 1920 destroyed much of the clubhouse.
  • Donald Steel redesigned the Green nine in 1987.
  • Combinations of the three nines, including Red with Green and Blue with Green, give the club several different 18-hole rounds.

History of St George's Hill Golf Club

Tarrant bought 964 acres in 1911. Harry Colt designed the course in 1912, and it opened on 2 October 1913.
