About Kinloch Golf Club
Kinloch Golf Club is a private 18-hole parkland course at Manakin-Sabot, Virginia, near Richmond. Lester George and Vinny Giles designed it, and woods and water both shape play. The outward nine runs through heavily wooded ground, while the inward nine is dominated by a 70-acre lake that comes into play at the 18th. Kinloch hosted the U.S. Senior Amateur in 2011, and in September 2024 the 43rd U.S. Mid-Amateur came to the club.
- Lester George, a Richmond architect, shared the design credit with Giles.
- Vinny Giles, who co-designed the course, is a two-time USGA champion.
- Kinloch is regularly named the top course in the state of Virginia.
- Across rolling land, the fairways are wide throughout the round.
History of Kinloch Golf Club
Kinloch opened in 2001 and has appeared on top-100 lists ever since.
Signature holes at Kinloch Golf Club
The 18th is the hole to know. The 70-acre lake that dominates the inward nine is a heavy factor there, so the finishing hole is played around the water.
When to play Kinloch Golf Club
Your host chooses the date. Virginia autumns are mild, which makes fall a comfortable season for a round. Confirm conditions with your host before you travel.
Playing Kinloch Golf Club: tips
