About The Omni Homestead Resort — Cascades Course
The Cascades Course at The Omni Homestead Resort is an 18-hole mountain course in Hot Springs, Virginia, designed by William Flynn in the 1920s. It sits among the Allegheny Mountains, and Flynn routed the holes in step with the natural terrain rather than forcing a layout onto the land. The ground rises and falls dramatically, and the course is regarded as one of the best examples of mountain golf in the country.
- The Cascades ranks among America's best public courses, appearing in GOLF's Top 100 Courses You Can Play and Golf Digest's best public list.
- The resort's Old Course has the oldest first tee in continuous use in the United States.
- Sam Snead said that if he could play only one course, it would be the Cascades.
- The Homestead resort dates to 1766.
