About Four Seasons Punta Mita
Four Seasons Punta Mita is a resort on the Punta Mita peninsula in Nayarit, Mexico, and its golf is led by the Pacifico Course, an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus design. Pacifico is laid out across roughly 200 acres of rolling hills, with eight holes on the water and views of the Sierra Madre mountains. The resort also offers a second Nicklaus course, Bahia, so Punta Mita has two courses in one place. Pacifico is known for its optional island-green par 3, the Tail of the Whale.
- The Bahia Course, also a Nicklaus design, has six ocean holes and rolls through the neighboring St. Regis Punta Mita property.
- Guests of both the Four Seasons and the St. Regis Punta Mita can play the Nicklaus courses, alongside property owners.
- Punta Mita is a peninsula at the northern end of Banderas Bay in Nayarit.
- Condé Nast Traveler readers chose the Four Seasons Punta Mita as the top golf resort in 2006 and again in 2008.
History of Four Seasons Punta Mita
The Pacifico Course opened in 1999 as the first Jack Nicklaus design at Punta Mita and the golf anchor of the resort. A decade later, in 2009, the Bahia Course opened as the second Nicklaus layout on the peninsula, with a routing that runs through the St. Regis area. Both courses are limited to resort guests, residents and property owners.
Signature holes at Four Seasons Punta Mita
Pacifico's signature hole is the optional 3B, a par 3 with a natural island green. It is billed as the world's only natural island green, and it can be played only when the tide is low. It is optional, so the round does not depend on it.
Playing Four Seasons Punta Mita: tips
Golf at Punta Mita is for property owners, their guests and guests staying at the Four Seasons or St. Regis, so reserve a room before planning rounds. There is no public tee sheet and no published green fee. The island-green 3B hole can be played only at low tide, so ask about tide times when you book.
