The Dunes Course opened in 2009, built on beachfront sand dunes at the edge of the Pacific. Davis Love III led the design with Paul Cowley, using the natural dune landforms to create wide fairways and big, rolling greens. In 2014 El Cardonal followed as Diamante's second championship course. It was the first course designed by Tiger Woods and his TGR Design team.
