About Avalon Golf Estate
Avalon Golf Estate is an 18-hole, par 72 course designed by Peter Matkovich at Bois Chéri, in the hills of south-central Mauritius. The course plays across 220 hectares of rolling estate land among tea fields, rivers, ravines and mountains. It is an inland layout, which is unusual on the island.
- The Gold tees play 6,318 metres, with White, Blue and Red tees for shorter rounds.
- The layout was shaped around the southeast trade winds, so the par 3s and par 5s play in different directions.
- The course is nicknamed the Garden of Eden.
- Rivers and ravines cut across the property, bringing water into play.

The 4th is a par 4 played from an elevated tee across a ravine.
