About Golf du Bassin Bleu
Golf du Bassin Bleu is an 18-hole course at Saint-Gilles-les-Hauts, on Réunion, set between the Indian Ocean and Piton Maïdo. The routing splits cleanly in two: one nine faces the sea, and the other runs through eucalyptus forest. Golfers who know the island describe it as the most technical layout on Réunion. A clubhouse with a restaurant, bar and pro shop serves players, and golf carts are available to rent for the round.
- A 220-square-meter pool overlooks the ocean beside the clubhouse, and massage services are on offer after a round.
- The practice area includes eight covered hitting bays for warming up before a tee time.
- The club hosts the annual Réunion International Open.
- Golf carts can take visitors to the Villèle museum, and a hike to Moulin Kader is another option.
History of Golf du Bassin Bleu
Robert Berthet laid out the course in 1990, dividing the property into an ocean-facing half and a forest half. The club also runs a golf school and teaches young players.
