Best Golf Courses in Mauritius
4 ranked courses in Mauritius
Mauritius has four clubs in this guide, three coastal courses and one inland parkland, and each leads with an 18-hole par 72. Three are resort courses, and Avalon Golf Estate is public. Two face the east coast in Flacq. Anahita Golf Club at Beau Champ is a 2008 Ernie Els design where six holes run along the lagoon and old dry-stone walls serve as hazards. It hosted the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, a DP World Tour event, in 2016 and 2018, and outside players pay standard rates. Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club sits on its own island off Trou d'Eau Douce, a Bernhard Langer design with IMG where every hole has some view of the ocean, reached by shuttle boat from the Pointe Maurice jetty. At Bel Ombre, Heritage Golf Club offers 45 holes across two courses. Its La Réserve Golf Links, co-designed by Louis Oosthuizen and Peter Matkovich on former sugar cane fields, opened in December 2023, and Oosthuizen won the 2023 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open on it. Play there is reserved for club members and guests of Heritage Resorts and Villas. Matkovich also designed Avalon Golf Estate at Bois Chéri, which crosses 220 hectares of tea fields, rivers and ravines in the hills and plays 6,318 metres from the Gold tees.

About Golf Courses in Mauritius
The east coast pairs Anahita at Beau Champ with Ile aux Cerfs off Trou d'Eau Douce, both in Flacq, with the boat crossing built into the tee time. In the south, a stay at one of the Heritage resorts at Bel Ombre opens La Réserve, and Avalon at Bois Chéri, open to golfers staying anywhere on the island, lies inland in the same Savanne district.
