About Medalist Golf Club

Medalist Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 72 course at Hobe Sound, Florida, designed by Greg Norman and Pete Dye. The routing is built around natural wetlands, with water carries on a number of holes, and the bunkers are walled with sod. Greens and fairways are Bermuda grass. The club doubles as a training facility for touring professionals, and it counts Norman himself among its best-known names. Tiger Woods plays the course as a home club.

  • A course rating of 77.9 and a slope of 155 make the back tees a demanding test even for tour players.
  • The Champions for Charity match in May 2020 put Medalist on television with Woods, Phil Mickelson, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.
  • Practice facilities include a driving range and practice greens, and golf carts are available.
  • The club sits at 9908 SE Cottage Lane, and its golf shop answers on (772) 545-9600.

History of Medalist Golf Club

Norman and Dye designed Medalist in 1995. In 2015 Bobby Weed and MacCurrach Golf Construction carried out a wall-to-wall renovation, which added a set of extra back tees known as the Tiger tees. The club reached a far wider audience in May 2020, when it was the venue for a televised charity match during the pandemic.

Playing Medalist Golf Club: tips

Medalist is a private membership club, so the only way onto the course is as the guest of a member. There is no public tee-time booking and no published green fee. Ask your host about dress and arrival times before the round, since the club's public pages give only basic details.
