About Les Bordes Golf Club
Les Bordes Golf Club sits in the Sologne forest at Saint-Laurent-Nouan in Loir-et-Cher, with two par-72 courses. Robert von Hagge designed the Old Course, a tree-lined layout that winds through the forest and around lakes. Gil Hanse designed the New Course, a heathland-style layout on sandy soil, so the club offers two very different kinds of golf on one estate.
- Water comes into play on roughly two-thirds of the Old Course's holes, so lake carries shape much of the round.
- The New Course debuted on GOLF Magazine's list of the world's top 100 courses soon after it opened.
- The New Course is a walking course, so plan to play it on foot.
- Gil Hanse also designed the Wild Piglet, a ten-hole par-three course, on the same estate.
History of Les Bordes Golf Club
The estate was once the private hunting ground of Baron Marcel Bich, co-founder of Bic, and von Hagge's Old Course opened there in 1987. New owners took over in 2018. Their main addition was the New Course by Gil Hanse, which opened in 2021.
