About Fallen Oak
Fallen Oak is an 18-hole, par 72 course at Saucier, Mississippi, playing 7,487 yards from the championship tees. Oaks and magnolias line the holes, with streams, ponds and wetlands crossing the ground and ten bridges carrying golfers over the low spots. The ground rises and falls, with significant elevation change across the property. The course lies next to DeSoto National Forest, and no houses or roads are visible from the fairways.
- Golf Digest ranks Fallen Oak the best course in Mississippi, and Golfweek placed it second among casino courses in the United States.
- The course has hosted a PGA Tour Champions event.
- Fazio's bunkering is a defining feature, with scalloped sand traps set against the green turf.
- Tom Fazio designed the course together with Beau Welling.
History of Fallen Oak
Fallen Oak was built as the golf course for Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, the Gulf Coast casino at Biloxi. Fazio and his co-designer placed it in forest and wetland inland of the coast rather than beside the water. It opened in 2006.
Signature holes at Fallen Oak
The 1st is a par 5 where a water oak serves as the visual target off the tee. The 18th finishes the round from elevated tees over a bunker-lined par 4, and the fallen oak the course is named for stands on the right side.
When to play Fallen Oak
Fallen Oak is open year-round, so timing is mostly a matter of your resort stay. Because tee times are tied to Beau Rivage, plan the round around your booking and check availability when you reserve a room, rather than waiting until you arrive.
Playing Fallen Oak: tips
Only guests of Beau Rivage Resort & Casino can play. There is no membership and no public tee sheet, and green fees vary, so confirm the rate when you book. The course is in Saucier, inland from Biloxi. Ask the resort about transport and what time to arrive.
