TPC Dorado Beach is a resort golf property in Dorado, Puerto Rico, and its East Course is the layout most visiting golfers come to play. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the East as a seaside championship course, and it is an 18-hole, par 72 layout by the sea. The course is open to visiting golfers as well as resort guests, and the property also has a second 18-hole course, which gives golfers on a longer stay another round to play.
- All 18 greens were rebuilt to their original sizes and shapes and replanted with Champions Bermuda grass.
- Tree removal opened up sightlines to the ocean across the East Course.
- The East has hosted PGA Tour Latinoamérica events, including its Tour Championship.
- The restoration added roughly 700 yards, giving the course more length from the back tees.
History of TPC Dorado Beach
Robert Trent Jones Jr. led the restoration of his father's East Course. The work by the Robert Trent Jones II firm took 18 months, and the course reopened in November 2011.
Signature holes at TPC Dorado Beach
The 4th is the hole most associated with the East. It is a par 5 that doglegs twice, a shape known as the Z, and the fairway winds around two ponds before reaching a green set against the ocean.
