About The Berkshire Golf Club
The Berkshire Golf Club is a heathland club on Swinley Road in Ascot with two 18-hole courses, the Red and the Blue. Herbert Fowler designed both. The routing runs through pine woodland, heather frames many of the fairways, and the ground rises and falls across the property. The Red follows an unusual formula of six par 3s, six par 4s and six par 5s, which makes a par of 72. The Blue plays to a par of 71.
- Amateur championships have been hosted at the club.
- A day ticket covers one round on each course, with lunch included.
- Caddies are available to visitors if they are arranged in advance through the caddie master.
- Tim Lobb renovated the Red Course in 2017.
History of The Berkshire Golf Club
The Berkshire was founded in 1928, when Herbert Fowler laid out the Red and the Blue on heathland near Ascot. The Red Course was renovated by Tim Lobb in 2017.
Signature holes at The Berkshire Golf Club
On the Red, the 10th is a par 3 played across a ravine, and it opens the back nine. The 8th is a par 4 that doglegs to the right. Several of the Red's par 3s are played across ravines.
