About North Sound Golf Club
North Sound Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 71 course on Safehaven Drive at Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman. Roy Case designed it in 1994, and it is the only 18-hole championship course in the Cayman Islands. Water comes into play on 15 of the 18 holes, and ocean breezes and trade winds affect play throughout the round. The property has ocean views, palm trees and a resident population of iguanas, which makes for a relaxed setting.
- An aqua driving range, a pro shop and an open-air bar make up the club's facilities.
- PGA lessons are offered, and the club has membership categories as well as public play.
- There are five sets of tee boxes, so the length of the round can be chosen.
- Club rental is available, which helps visitors traveling without their own set.
History of North Sound Golf Club
North Sound sits east of the bypass, behind the Ritz-Carlton, on Safehaven Drive. It has been the Cayman Islands' only 18-hole championship course since it opened.
Signature holes at North Sound Golf Club
The 11th is the signature hole. It is a long par 3 played into the wind, and it is one of the more demanding holes on the course, with the breeze making club selection harder.
When to play North Sound Golf Club
Grand Cayman is warm all year. The drier months run from roughly December to April, while summers are hot and humid with a higher chance of rain. Early or twilight tee times avoid the strongest heat.
