About Lofoten Links

Lofoten Links is an 18-hole, par 71 seaside links on the island of Gimsøya, in Norway's Lofoten archipelago above the Arctic Circle. Jeremy Turner designed it. The holes run beside white-sand beaches, rocky outcrops, the sea and mountains.

  • A 2023 world top-100 ranking placed the course 88th, and Golf World named it fifth in continental Europe.
  • Golf Digest has ranked Lofoten Links as high as 24th on its list of the world's 100 greatest courses.
  • World Golf Awards named it Norway's Best Golf Course in 2025.
  • The course sits at 68 degrees north, above the Arctic Circle.

History of Lofoten Links

Lofoten Links opened in July 1998 as a six-hole course designed by Jeremy Turner. It was later expanded to nine holes, and the full 18-hole course opened in July 2015. The property now operates as a golf resort.

Signature holes at Lofoten Links

The par-3 2nd, called Arholmen, has its green beside rocky outcrops with a white-sand beach behind it. It is called the most photographed hole in Scandinavia.

When to play Lofoten Links

Late August to mid-October is the northern lights season, so early-autumn golfers can pair a round with a night under the aurora.
