Best Golf Courses in Norway
5 ranked courses in Norway
Norway has five courses in this guide: four semi-private clubs and one resort, with three parkland, one heathland and one links. Oslo Golfklubb is the oldest golf club in the country, on the shore of Lake Bogstad in Oslo, with a course reconstructed by Steve Forrest in 2009. It is the only one with firm visitor terms: green-fee players need a handicap of 36 or lower and can book up to three days ahead, though guests of members are also welcome. Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed two of the others. Miklagard in Kløfta draws its signs and buildings from Norse history, and non-members play green-fee rounds; the neighboring Lily Country Club sells stay-and-play packages. Holtsmark in Sylling, on a wooded site of low ridges and ravines, is also open to non-members. Kongsvingers Golfklubb at Liermoen, Peter Nordwall's heathland on sandy soil among pine forest, books through Golfbox, by phone or by email. Lofoten Links, Jeremy Turner's seaside course on the island of Gimsøya above the Arctic Circle, is the resort course, with tee times booked directly with the club.
