About Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa

Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort is an 18-hole, par 72 course at Kigo, outside Kampala on the shore of Lake Victoria. Golfplan, with Kevin Ramsey as the architect, designed it, and the full 18 holes opened in October 2018. Fairways are planted with paspalum and the greens are bent grass. The course sits inside a resort that has a spa, restaurants and accommodation.

  • The 18th hole finishes at an island green.
  • A man-made lagoon that holds the resort marina runs between the ninth and 18th holes.
  • The Serena Johnnie Walker Open was staged in October 2018 to open the full course.
  • A driving range and practice area are on site, and a teaching professional is on staff.

History of Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa

Kevin Ramsey of Golfplan took years to deliver the project, with the first nine holes built well ahead of the second. The back nine was completed in October 2018, and the full layout was opened that month with a professional tournament, the Serena Johnnie Walker Open. The course includes a man-made lagoon that holds the resort marina.
