About Sigona Golf Club

Sigona Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course at Kikuyu, northwest of Nairobi, beside the A104 highway to Naivasha. Tom Simpson is credited with the design, and the club dates to 1938. From the back tees it plays to a par of 72 and 6,892 yards. The setting is highland country near the Rift Valley, on land that was formerly a wattle tree plantation, and the fairways are Kikuyu grass lined with trees.

  • Greens are described as fast and well kept.
  • Kenya Golf Union events and professional tour stops are part of the club's tournament calendar.
  • A practice range is on site for warming up before a round.
  • The club has its own accommodation, so a golf stay needs no transfer.

When to play Sigona Golf Club

Nairobi's highlands have two dry spells, roughly January to February and July to October, which suit golf best. The long rains fall from March to May and shorter rains arrive around November, so check the forecast before a morning tee time.

Playing Sigona Golf Club: tips
