About Kloof Country Club
Kloof Country Club is an 18-hole parkland course in the Upper Highway area of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The course was first laid out by Tom Field in 1926 and redesigned as an 18-hole course in 1929 by Stafford Vere Hotchkin. It sits in a nature conservancy area with indigenous flora and fauna, and the club lists woolly-necked storks, African hoopoes and crested barbets among the birds on the property. The greens are Penncross bent grass, and water hazards are built into the layout. The terrain is hilly, with views from the course stretching toward Durban's beaches. The front nine measures 2,741 metres because of the steep ground, and the back nine is the stronger test. The club also has squash, padel, tennis, athletics and cricket facilities, and the clubhouse has a bar and a halfway house. Visitors can book a round through the club's online system or the pro shop.
