About Interlachen Country Club
Interlachen Country Club is a private club in Edina, Minnesota, and one of the best-known championship venues in the Upper Midwest. Donald Ross redesigned the course from 1919, and the routing he produced has stayed largely as he left it. A full restoration by the architect Andrew Green was completed in 2024, with the stated aim of returning the course to Ross's original vision while preparing it for modern championship conditions.
- The U.S. Women's Open returns in 2030, a hundred years after Jones won the men's championship on the same property.
- Jones's 1930 victory here was the third leg of the Grand Slam he completed that year.
- Willie Watson laid out the original course that Ross later redesigned.
- Green worked from Ross's old plans, so the 2024 restoration rests on the original drawings.
History of Interlachen Country Club
Interlachen was founded in 1909. In 1930 the U.S. Open came to Edina, and Bobby Jones took the title.
Signature holes at Interlachen Country Club
No single hole defines Interlachen. The draw is Ross's routing, now restored to the way he drew it.
When to play Interlachen Country Club
A round depends on a member's invitation, and the host's availability matters more than the calendar. Minnesota winters are long and cold, so the golf season is late spring through early fall.
