About Notts Golf Club (Hollinwell)
Notts Golf Club, known as Hollinwell, is an 18-hole, par 72 heathland course at Kirkby-in-Ashfield in north Nottinghamshire, stretching to 7,250 yards from the championship tees. Heather, gorse and rolling ground shape the round.
- The Brabazon Trophy has been played here six times, the sixth edition coming in 2024.
- Hollinwell has been a final qualifying venue for The Open since 2017.
- The English Amateur and the British Boys Championship in 2012 have also been played here.
- The club runs a heathland regeneration program.
History of Notts Golf Club (Hollinwell)
The club was founded in 1887 and moved to Hollinwell around the turn of the twentieth century. Willie Park Jr designed the 18-hole course there, and it opened in 1901. J.H. Taylor revised the layout in 1902, and Tom Williamson made later changes. Martin Ebert has also worked on the course.
