About The Dunes Club

The Dunes Club is a nine-hole course in New Buffalo, Michigan, with a par of 36. It is laid out on natural sand dunes, and sandy waste areas and bunkers run through tree-lined corridors. A full round means playing the nine holes twice.

  • Hole locations are recut around midday, so the second loop of the nine plays differently from the first.
  • Teeing positions are flexible, so a hole can be lengthened or shortened and its angle of attack changed.
  • Pine Valley was the model for the look of the course, in its sandy edges and tree-lined corridors.
  • The clubhouse is kept minimal, with an outdoor grill in place of a full dining operation.

History of The Dunes Club

Dick Nugent was the original architect of the Dunes Club. Jim Urbina later renovated the course.
