Best Golf Courses in Egypt
5 ranked courses in Egypt
Egypt has five clubs in this guide: three desert courses, one parkland and one coastal. Three are resort courses and two are semi-private. Three are in the Cairo area. The Allegria Golf Club in Sheikh Zayed City is a Greg Norman parkland course from 2010 that stretches to 7,217 yards and is managed by Troon Golf. Newgiza Golf Club in 6th of October City was the last design by Thomson Perrett & Lobb. It opened in April 2019, built on a former quarry site, with no rough and the Pyramids of Giza about five miles away. Katameya Dunes Golf Club in New Cairo is a Nick Faldo project of two courses, the Lakes and the Palms; the Lakes is a par 72 of more than 7,400 yards from the back tees across former dune land, and The Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa stands in the same community. Sokhna Golf Club at Ain Sokhna, roughly an hour from Cairo, has 27 holes in three nines credited to John Sanford and Tim Lobb, with Platinum paspalum on fairways and greens, and it hosts the Alps Tour's Ein Bay Open. On the Red Sea coast south of Hurghada, Somabay Golf has a Gary Player course from 1998, where six holes run along the shoreline and the rest cross open desert, with The Cascades Golf Resort, Spa & Thalasso on site.

About Golf Courses in Egypt
Cairo makes one trip: The Allegria Golf Club and Newgiza are both in Giza Governorate, within reach of the Pyramids, and Katameya Dunes is in New Cairo. Sokhna Golf Club, about an hour away, adds a round on the Suez coast. Somabay is a separate Red Sea stay, with the resort's hotel and spa beside the course.
