About Ardfin
Ardfin is an 18-hole, par 72 course on the Isle of Jura, in the Inner Hebrides, on a 12,000-acre estate. Bob Harrison, formerly of Greg Norman's design company, designed the holes over cliffs and down to the beach. Ardfin is a private estate course, so playing it takes planning and a stay on the property.
- A boathouse stands between the 11th green and the 12th tee.
- Jura House, a restored manor with ten bedrooms, can be taken on an exclusive-use basis by a group.
- Guests can also stay in the 13 rooms of the Quads.
- Several holes look across the Sound of Islay toward Islay.
History of Ardfin
Ardfin was built on a 12,000-acre estate on Jura, in the Inner Hebrides, in the 2010s. Bob Harrison, formerly of Greg Norman's design company, designed the course, with holes over cliffs and down to the beach. Jura House, a restored manor, is part of the accommodation offered to golfers.
Signature holes at Ardfin
The par-3 2nd plays over a gap, and the par-3 10th plays from clifftop to clifftop. The 12th, 13th and 14th run along the shore, with the 12th played across the Sound of Islay. Strong wind makes these holes do or die.
When to play Ardfin
Reaching Jura means a ferry via Islay, so plan your dates around travel as much as golf. Strong wind makes the holes do or die, so treat the forecast as part of the trip.
Playing Ardfin: tips
Ardfin is a private estate where play is tied to a stay. Book a room in the hotel buildings or take Jura House, and golf is included in the stay. Machrie Golf Links on Islay is nearby.
