About Club del Lago Golf
Club del Lago Golf is a sand-based, American-style golf complex on Laguna del Sauce, in Maldonado Department near Punta del Este. The property has 20 holes arranged as three circuits, called A, B and C. Fairways climb and drop through pine forest, and artificial lakes come into play along the way.
- Club del Lago was the first golf course in South America to earn ISO 14001 environmental certification.
- Roberto De Vicenzo nicknamed the course the Augusta of South America.
- Professional events on the PGA Tour Latinoamérica have been played at the club.
- A driving range and putting green are available, with a practice green at the entrance, and lessons are offered to adults and juniors.
History of Club del Lago Golf
Enrique Serra designed the original 18 holes. Ángel Reartes designed holes I and II, which form part of the Laguna del Sauce circuit.
