Best Golf Courses in Switzerland

5 ranked courses in Switzerland

Switzerland has five courses in this guide: four private parkland clubs and one semi-private mountain course. Crans-sur-Sierre in Crans-Montana ranks highest. The club dates to 1906, with a 1928 extension to 18 holes by Harry Nicholson and a redesign by Severiano Ballesteros in 1995 to 1997. Visitors must hold a handicap certificate, belong to a Swiss or affiliated foreign club and have a handicap of 36 or better; soft spikes are required, and the season runs only from May to the end of October because the course is under snow the rest of the year. Domaine Impérial in Gland, Pete Dye's 1987 course, welcomes visitors Tuesday to Friday at a handicap of 30 or less, limited to three visits a year. Golf Club de Genève in Vandoeuvres, Robert Trent Jones Sr.'s 1973 course renovated by his son in 2018, also allows three rounds a year, Tuesday to Friday. Golf Club de Lausanne, from 1921, takes visitors on weekdays through the caddy master, and Golf & Country Club Zürich in Zumikon, from 1929 and reworked by Thomas Himmel from 2015, takes them on weekdays from April to October.
