About Te Arai Links

Te Arai Links is a two-course links club at Tomarata, on the Pacific coast north of Auckland. The North Course is a par 71 and is the course described here. It plays further inland than its neighbor and is known for distinctive green shapes. The South Course takes in ocean views on sixteen of its eighteen holes. Both are walking-only links.

  • On the South Course, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, eight holes run directly beside the sea.
  • The North Course routes its holes over inland sand ridges, a change of pace from the shoreline holes of the South Course.
  • Tom Doak, who designed the North Course, is also the architect of Tara Iti, a private club on the same coast.
  • Tee times for non-members can be booked up to 28 days before the date of play.

History of Te Arai Links

The South Course opened in 2022. The club has two links courses on the coast north of Auckland.
