About Loch Lomond Golf Club

Loch Lomond Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course at Luss in Argyll and Bute. Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish designed it, and it opened in 1993 as the first course in Scotland laid out by an American firm. The course plays to par 71 and about 7,100 yards. Trees, streams and marsh are in play, and the loch comes into play on several holes. The design is strategic, with reachable par 5s and drivable short par 4s, and views run across the water toward Ben Lomond.

  • The Scottish Open was played here from 1996 to 2010.
  • Europe beat the United States 14.5 to 11.5 in the 2000 Solheim Cup, played on this course.
  • Weiskopf spent long periods on site during construction.
  • The estate covers about 660 acres, and the club also has a spa in a walled garden.

History of Loch Lomond Golf Club

The land at Luss belonged to Clan Colquhoun, and Rossdhu House, built in 1773, is now the clubhouse. The course opened in 1993, laid out by Weiskopf and Morrish through the estate's trees, streams and marsh. The 18th finishes beneath the ruins of Rossdhu Castle.

Signature holes at Loch Lomond Golf Club

The 6th is a par 5 that plays beside the loch, with water on the right. The 5th is a par 3 overlooking the water, and the 17th is another par 3 along the loch. The 18th is a cape-style finish around the loch.
