Best Golf Courses in Pakistan
3 ranked courses in Pakistan
Pakistan has three clubs in this guide, two in Karachi and one in Islamabad. Karachi Golf Club began in 1888 as an affiliate of the Sindh Club, was registered as a separate club in 1891 and moved to its present site at Karsaz in 1953. Peter Harradine's championship course followed in the early 1990s, and nine further holes made a 27-hole layout of Blue, Yellow and Red courses, which share 205 acres with the clubhouse. The Pakistan Open Golf Championship is held there, and the Pakistan Masters has been played there too. Defence Authority Country & Golf Club is a Donald Steel par 72 of 7,120 yards in Phase 8. Its front nine opened in April 1997 and its back nine in August 1998, floodlights allow night golf, and amateur Omar Khalid won the Sindh Open there in July 2026 by two strokes. In Islamabad, Ayub Khan inaugurated the Islamabad Club's 18-hole championship course, the Old course, in 1967, and a nine-hole New course followed in 2011 to make 27 holes. Polo, cricket, tennis and squash facilities and swimming pools are at the club, and the Pakistan Golf Federation held its Federal Junior Amateur Championship on the course in July 2026.

About Golf Courses in Pakistan
Arrange every round ahead. Karachi Golf Club is a membership club about 15 minutes from the airport, so contact it before traveling and ask which of the three courses your round will use; Defence Authority takes bookings by phone. Karachi's cooler winter months are the most comfortable, with floodlit evening rounds at Defence Authority in warmer weather. In Islamabad, spring and autumn suit golf best, call the club about tee times, and guest rooms on the grounds let golfers stay on site.
